As the UK rap scene continues to thrive, one artist that's been generating buzz lately is Bawo, an up-and-coming rapper from London who's been making waves with his unique sound and style.

With his infectious beats, clever wordplay, and smooth flow, Bawo is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new voices in UK rap. His music draws from a variety of influences, blending elements of grime, trap, and old-school hip-hop to create something fresh and original.

What sets the West London artist apart from the pack is his ability to craft songs that are both catchy and meaningful. His lyrics touch on everything from personal struggles to social issues, giving listeners a glimpse into his world.

I first came across Bawo when he opened up at the Alpha Place tour last year and he immediately caught my attention. Like most underground UK artists, I quickly realised that Bawo had already developed a loyal cult fan base, when I stood at the very front of the crowd during his set, as he performed a fan favourite “Brasileiro”.

I left it at the very last minute but after scrambling on Instagram, I managed to get a ticket to The Conference tour. Again, I went by myself and for those who are scared to go to a show on their own, I’m proof that you’ll have just as much of an amazing time as you would if you went with your friends, if not, better!

Bawo performed the majority of his latest project “Legitimate Cause”, which was exciting to hear live. He was joined by the likes of Reek0, Oscar #Worldpeace, Ayeisha , Danny Sanchez, Ayrtn and Louis Culture.

I was captivated by the performance overall. Bawo’s lyrics about real-life situations and the struggles of young adult friendships and relationships have always caught my attention and held it throughout the show. It’s clear that Bawo speaks from personal experience, and his authenticity and raw emotion makes his music all the more powerful. I left the concert feeling moved and inspired, with a newfound appreciation for the artistry and storytelling that goes into creating meaningful rap music.

In "Legitimate Cause," Bawo confidently asserts his dedication to his music career and his ambition to rise through the ranks as one of the UK's most promising new artists. The album's themes, as depicted through the artwork, playfully reference Bawo's transition into the professional phase of his career. With this project, Bawo presents himself as a serious artist with a clear vision for his future, ready to make his mark on the music industry.
