JUST WHEN WE THOUGHT @A2ARTIST WAS FINISHED..

After teasing us with a double release of UPSTAIRS/DOWNSTAIRS back in May, A2 has returned with another double release IT’S NOT PERSONAL/YEAH OK.

As an artist who usually comes across as reticent and humble, A2 is back to remind us that he is in fact the complete opposite when it comes to his music.

The singer/rapper/producer's last project Just So You Know was expected to be his last ever project but it seems as though the multifaceted artist is not quite done yet.  A2 jogs the memory of his listeners, old and new with his braggadocio-style rap and his impressive production skills on both tracks. He opens up the first track with a self-assured reminder that he is one of a kind in the UK music scene.

“Could’ve been first but I ain’t thirsty”

As an artist who has often been described as “underrated” the musician’s use of wordplay and lyricism is somewhat special and this is what separates him from the rest, simply because he has the ability to say something deeper than the words themselves.

In past projects, we’re used to A2 being completely transparent and raw with his feelings towards past relationships, whether they’re friendships, intimate relationships or business. “IT’S NOT PERSONAL” clearly summarises A2’s feelings towards the music industry as a whole, Similar to his track Akolades from his last project, where A2 continues to demand his flowers.

The Croydon-raised artist seamlessly transitions from a slowed-down soulful vibe, showcasing both his unique rap style and vocals to a more upbeat tempo on “ Yeah, Ok”. The contrast between the two tracks highlights the artist’s talents as he continues to show us that he is able to effortlessly switch between a melodic chilled vibe and a carefree fast-paced bop.

“They come and go I’ve got residue ways”

Another reminder that A2 is incomparable. An artist that will always leave a mark with his music no matter what.
