Earlier on in the year, I was introduced to Benjiflow’s sound when I heard Deep End for the first time. I couldn’t believe I was only JUST hearing his music for the first time in 2022. You know when you find a song and you rinse it until you’ve had enough, Deep End was that song for me!
I Went to Knucks ‘Alpha Place’ concert and saw Benjiflow from a distance, and me being me, (the extroverted introvert😅) knowing just one song of his at the time, I impulsively decided to approach him to express my interest in his music.
It's always nice when you receive good energy from the artists that you listen to. He was so personable and pleasant, I could tell that he was appreciative during those few seconds that we spoke.
Fast forward to the end of the year, the North London raised artist headlined at Lafayette alongside some surprise acts including Talia Goddess, NIPPA, WSTRN’s Haile, and let’s be real, what would a Benjiflow show be without a MINIKINGZ performance?
For those who don’t know, Benjiflow isn’t your average UK artist. He’s a man of many talents. Born into a family full of musicians, Benji was destined to become the artist that he is today. Although he is known for his melodious, Latin inspired sound, Benjiflow is not one to play with when it comes to barring. Let’s not forget that he started off his musical journey as a grime MC.
It’s evident that Benjiflow is a multifaceted artist who has a finger in every pie. He’s a rapper, a singer, an instrumentalist, a producer, and a trendsetter when it comes to his unique style.
The musician performed a number of his most popular tracks including Can’t Lose, Go, Ready and My Bella ft Oxlade. The energy in the room was insane, full of friends and supporters who sang the lyrics to his songs back to him word for word.
The highlight of the night for me was the MINIKINGZ performance. The trio made up of artists Oscar #Worldpeace, Ragz Originale and Benjiflow brought the vibes as they performed some tracks off their debut mixtape ICONICY.
I was lucky enough to join Benji & friends in celebration of the amazing show that he put on for us. Safe to say that we all had a TIME! All in all, it was heartwarming to witness the success that Benjiflow has worked so hard to achieve thus far, and I’m excited to see what he has in store for us in the new year.
